Radio Shuttle Racking System

The picking principle of Radio shuttle racking system is to use a forklift or stacker to place the pallet unit at the front end of the shuttle rack channel guide rail. The shuttle operated by radio remote control carries the tray unit tracks running on it, and moves the racks deep inside. The shuttle moves to the front of the rack and can be placed on different tracks using a forklift or stacker. Multiple aisles can also use the same shuttle. Shuttle type racks are suitable for industries with a large number of items and relatively few categories, such as food, beverages, chemicals, tobacco, etc., and are suitable for cold storage work.

Radio Shuttle Pallets Racks are a semi-automated solution for the storage of high-volume palletized goods and mass storage products. They are often used in warehouses and distribution hubs for food, beverages, or warehouses with special storage conditions. A shuttle is a sort of cart or sled that moves stored items into the pallet racking. The shuttle runs on tracks and allows for a storage system of much higher density so that space can be utilized to its highest potential. Shuttle racking removes the need for human operators to manoeuvre forklifts up and down aisles, reducing risk to warehouse workers, machinery, pallet racks themselves and saving time. This type of system is best for warehouses that are frequently loading and unloading large number of pallets such as cold storage, meat processing, food and beverage distribution, etc. However, it is not useful for distribution centres where there are multiple items stored in each pallet and along each lane.

Radio Shuttle is especially effective for distribution or logistics centers, where you may need quick and efficient supply and distribution. At the same time, this type of Pallets Storage and Retrieval System allows maximum optimization of storage capacity as it reduces the need for corridors between the racks. With this system, you store different amounts of pallets in-depth, according to specific needs or seasonal load. At the same time, each pallet is quickly accessible.

FIFO & LIFO

Advantages

· Time savings and productivity gains

The shuttle executes orders speedily, and the forklift operates in the aisle without entering the racking. This shortens loading/unloading times and raises the number of cycles/hour.

· Space savings

Storage channels can exceed 60 m in depth, while clearances between levels are minimal, increasing storage capacity.

· Cost savings

The optimal use of space reduces the system’s footprint, thus keeping down land costs. And in cold storage warehouses, this means less surface area to be cooled, resulting in lower energy consumption.

· Multiple SKUs

Grouping SKUs by channels as opposed to complete lanes allows for greater product diversity in the storage system.

· Compatible with LIFO and FIFO

The system can operate in line with the LIFO (last in, first out) or FIFO (first in, first out) inventory management strategies.

·Easy to use

All system functions are activated from the control tablet, which is equipped with an intuitive user interface.

· Safety

As the forklifts do not operate inside the racking, the metal structure remains free from damage, and the risk of accidents is minimized.
